Harvey Weinstein. The name has become a part of pop culture. I must admit, I didn’t know who he was until his accusers came forward.
The name of this bigger than life producer who produced such movies like Shakespeare in Love”, “Gangs of New York”, “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”, “The Hateful Eight” and “Django Unchained”, has become a punch line.
Ten years ago, nobody could have dreamed of this culture shift; that people would actually believe women when they called ‘wolf: Men have been held accountable up to, and including losing their jobs. How dare they think this behavior will continue to be acceptable and excused?
The same thing goes for the shooting in Parkland Florida; how long are we supposed to suffer through this before something is done? President Trump is talking about arming the teachers in the schools. I don’t think that is the answer; that is like having a scar and putting a band-aid on it.
You are addressing the symptom, but not the issue. Besides, how many teachers do you think would want to carry weapons; we send our children to school to learn, not to be in a war zone. There needs to be answers. I don’t know what they are, but a change is coming.
This is why the theme for this month is THE POWER OF CHANGE. In Beautiful Inside and Out, you will find a chef who healed her own body with food; as well as an update on Michelle Phan Em Cosmetics.
In Women of Wisdom, among quotes by women, reprint of articles focused on letting go and speaking out.
And lastly, in L.I.G.H.T, (Let Inspirational Guidance Heal Today), I write about choosing to be smart.
The power to choose is a great weapon with a heavy responsibility. Choose wisely.
